Psychotherapy & Hypnotherapy
What is Psychotherapy?
Psychotherapy, also known as “talk therapy,” is a form of treatment that helps people overcome significant life challenges. It can provide help with a range of problems such as depression, anxiety, trauma, and low self-esteem. Psychotherapy can help you learn how to take control of your life and respond to challenging situations with healthy coping mechanisms.
If you’re overwhelmed by personal problems impacting your mental and emotional health, psychotherapy can help.
What is Hypnotherapy?
Hypnotherapy can be described as a relaxation technique to help you change negative thinking patterns. People enter a “hypnotic state” naturally and quite often. For example, do you ever daydream at work, or have you ever driven somewhere on autopilot? If the answer is yes, then you’ve experienced a form of hypnosis known as a trance.
During hypnosis, the therapist helps you achieve a trance state through a process known as progressive relaxation, a technique for reducing overall body tension as well as psychological stress. During hypnotherapy sessions, you are completely awake and aware of your surroundings. You are in control.
The goal of hypnotherapy is to move beyond our conscious awareness, tap the subconscious mind, and replace unwanted feelings of self-doubt, for example, with feelings of self-confidence and optimism.
Through hypnotherapy, your therapist can help change potentially damaging feelings and emotions embedded in your subconscious mind. Sometimes, no matter what you do, you can't shake a tough emotion. If you find yourself stuck in feelings of sadness or worry, hypnotherapy can help transform those feelings.
The Best Protection a Woman has is Courage
When stress becomes chronic or extreme, it can become harder to cope and this can lead to anxiety and depression. Past trauma can exacerbate mental and emotional stress. Oftentimes women are so busy that they don't take time to slow down long enough to think about how stress is negatively affecting them. They may experience self-doubt for not being able to meet expectations for themselves and others. Many women spend more time meeting the needs of others rather than nurturing their own needs. If this sounds like you, I am here to support you. I work with women to build a personalized wellness plan to help them manage stress and empower themselves to make healthily lifestyle changes.
